 AIMS elects officers

The American Insurance Marketing & Sales (AIMS) Society, a national membership organization open to anyone engaged in sales and marketing in the property and casualty insurance business, elected the following officers for 2009-2010: 

  • James P. Gosselink, CPIA, CIC, LUTCF, president;
  • Curtis M. Pearsall, CPIA, CPCU, ARM, AU, AIAF, vice president;
  • Mike Herzak, CPIA, CIC, CRMCS, secretary;
  • Marty Lebson, CPIA, AAI, ARM, treasurer; and
  • Ronald D. Stauffer, CPIA, immediate past president.

Gosselink is owner and principal of Tulip City Agency, an eight-person multiline agency in Pella, Iowa. He started his insurance career with the agency in the early 1990s as a life and health insurance agent. .

Pearsall is vice president of Utica National Insurance Co. and director of its E&O program, responsible for all E&O underwriting, marketing, sales and claims activities. A past president of the CPCU Society Utica Chapter, he also is general manager of Uni-Service Excess Facilities, Utica National’s wholesaler division. Before joining Utica National in 1981, Pearsall was an independent agent for 5 years.

Herzak  is president and CEO of Insurance Systems Group, a multi-site, multiline agency his father founded in Cleveland in 1954. A 40-plus-year industry veteran, Herzak is a Certified Risk Manager for schools and churches—one of the agency’s key focus areas. He has served as director of the National Assn. of Professional Insurance Agents and president and director of its Ohio affiliate, which in 1995 named him “Ohio Professional Agent of the Year.”

Lebson is a principal and vice president of Insurance Resource Group, part of top-100 brokerage The Capacity Group, Mahwah, N.J. An agent/broker for more than 30 years, he also heads Capacity Worldwide Consulting Group, LLC, which provides risk management and insurance covering foreign-made products.  

Stauffer is vice president of Phelan Insurance Agency, one of the largest insurance agencies in western Ohio, headquartered in Versailles. A partner and co-owner of the agency, he specializes in providing risk management for the education industry. 

 Directors elected to new three-year terms include:  

  • George A. Zelhof, CPIA, owner, producer, United Assurance, Inc., Fair Lawn, N.J.
  • Keith A. Savino, CPIA, chief operating officer, Warwick Resource Group, Warwick, N.Y.
  • Richard H. Dygve, CPIA, CIC, principal and vice president, Johnson & Strachan Insurance Agency, Fairfax, Va.
  • Philip R. Bogle, CPIA, president, Bogle Agency, Inc., Lyndhurst, N.J.
  • Ronald D. Stauffer, CPIA, vice president, Phelan Insurance Agency, Versailles, Ohio.
